Our Pastor and Wife

Pastor_Jim_LouiseHello, my name is James (Jim) Crocker. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland and currently live in Reisterstown. I married my high school sweetheart Louise and we recently celebrated 37 years of marriage. Louise and I are blessed with three children and eight grandchildren.

In 1974, I realized for the first time that God was more than do’s and don’ts. At the age of 10 while sitting in church, the pastor began speaking about accountability and consequences for our actions. I remember thinking, I had a problem, I was not good enough for God and no matter what I did, it wasn’t going to be good enough. At the end of the service the pastor gave me good news and explained that everyone had done wrong. He continued to say that God had provided the answer to my problem. The pastor explained the love that God had for me. All I had to do was recognize and believe that His Son, Jesus Christ came and lived a sinless life and died on the cross for my wrongs to make me right with God. He explained that when Jesus rose from the grave, death was conquered. Jesus did for me what I couldn’t do for myself. It was at that point I made it personal, I prayed and thanked God for the love that He had for me, I thanked Him for the gift of His Son Jesus, and I asked Him to forgive me for all the wrongs that I had done. Jesus was no longer someone to hide from, He was now my friend.

I have had the privilege to pastor this church since February 2015. The word of God makes it clear that I am in the obedience business and God is in the results business. The Lord has blessed me with some great mentors in my life. I am thankful for the support of the founding Pastor George Wagner, the valuable insight from Pastor Doug Mayer, and the recent Pastor Roger Reece, they all have taught me the importance in placing God first in my life. I am thankful that God has called me to a loving and supportive group of believers. This church exemplifies “loving one another” and displays fellowship in a genuine way.

I would love the opportunity to meet with you and to share the abundant life that the Lord has for you. As it was for me in 1974, the first step was up to me, your first step begins with you.

Pastor Jim
